After years of smooth-talking, Besson was finally allowed to adapt the story for the big screen - and the outcome is an adventure romp that combines shades of Indiana Jones with The Lost World and Amelie. It's 1912 and Adele Blanc-Sec, an intrepid young writer, sets off to Egypt to tackle mummies in the hope of finding ancient medicine to save her afflicted sister. Meanwhile in Paris, a 136-million year old pterodactyl egg has hatched and is subjecting the city to a reign of terror.
